Camp Blessing is a nondenominational Christian summer camp for people with medical, physical or developmental disabilities and their siblings. Approximately 30-35 campers attend each week.
The camp will be held at Circle Lake Retreat Center located between Tomball and Magnolia (www.diogh.org/CircleLake/index.htm.)
In addition to the campers, we host a team of 40+ volunteers who come to assist us in caring for the campers. These volunteers range in age from 14 to 60+ and are here to learn the role of servant-leader. Those in the late teens to twenty-something are often working directly with a camper. Those over the age of 26 serve as cabin mom/dad, nurses & doctors, or kitchen help. These dedicated people working for the Lord all make up our volunteer team.
Being a part of the paid staff at Camp Blessing requires extreme dedication to serving God and others through leadership. You need to be mature and responsible in all your actions. The job of staff people at Camp Blessing is one that requires excellent physical and emotional status. It is a 24/7 commitment. People that require 8 or more hours sleep each night and/or people that might have emotional instability are not able to keep the pace and do the work required.
